Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
ClipDeck lets you watch Twitch clips from the streamers you follow. This policy explains, in plain language, what information ClipDeck collects, why, how long it's kept and what choices you have.
Who we are
ClipDeck is run by Refael Halevy, based in Israel, who is responsible for your information (the "controller"). Questions or requests about your privacy: .
What we collect
From Twitch, when you sign in
- Your Twitch user ID, username, display name and profile picture address (refreshed from Twitch at least once a day while you use ClipDeck).
- The list of channels you follow on Twitch, so we can add them to your streamers.
We don't receive your Twitch password or email address. Twitch gives us temporary access to read your follows; we use it once during sign-in and immediately hand it back to Twitch. We keep no ongoing access to your Twitch account.
What you create in ClipDeck
- Your saved streamers and which ones are selected, your favorite clips, hidden clips and filter settings. These are stored as Twitch IDs (which channel, which clip and when you saved it). Channel names, pictures and clip details are loaded from Twitch when you use ClipDeck and kept for at most a day.
- Your security setup: your authenticator-app secret (stored encrypted) and your recovery codes (stored only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the codes).
- Your signed-in devices: when each sign-in started, when it was last active, when it expires and whether you chose "Keep me signed in".
Technical information
- To protect accounts from guessing attacks, we count wrong verification codes per IP address and per account. These counters store only a scrambled form of the IP address and are deleted within about a day.
- Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.
We don't use advertising, we don't sell your information, and we don't use tracking or analytics cookies. ClipDeck doesn't track you across other websites and doesn't let others do so, so browser "Do Not Track" signals don't change anything here.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for: sign you in, show clips and save your preferences.
- To keep your account secure: verification codes, recovery codes and limits on wrong attempts.
- To answer you when you contact us.
For visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, our legal bases are performing our agreement with you (providing the service) and our legitimate interest in keeping accounts and the service secure.
Cookies and browser storage
ClipDeck uses only what's needed to work:
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in (until the browser closes, or up to 30 days if you choose).
- Short-lived cookies used while signing in with Twitch (they expire within 10 minutes).
- A copy of your saved streamers, favorites and settings in your browser's storage, so the app is fast. It's removed when you sign out.
When you play a clip, Twitch's video player is loaded from Twitch, and clip pictures load from Twitch's servers. Twitch may collect information as described in Twitch's Privacy Notice.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host the website (Vercel) and its database (Turso), our email (Zoho), which receives the messages you send us, GitHub, which stores our encrypted backups, and Better Stack, which checks that the site is up and receives reports when something breaks (technical details such as the error and the page where it happened, never your IP address, cookies or account details). They act only to run ClipDeck, handle data under their own terms and security practices, and may store it in other countries, including the United States.
- Twitch, which we contact to sign you in and to show clips and channel information.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and saved data: until you delete your account.
- Signed-in devices: until you sign out or the sign-in expires.
- Unfinished sign-ins: 10 minutes. Wrong-attempt counters: about a day.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you and keep a record of the request, then deleted.
- Backups: an encrypted copy of the database is made daily (without sign-ins) and kept for 30 days, in case data is lost.
- Error reports: deleted automatically by Better Stack after 90 days at most.
- After you delete your account: only its random internal number, for 35 days, so that restoring a backup can't bring the account back.
When you delete your account, everything above is deleted right away, except that our encrypted backups that still contain it are deleted within 30 days, and our providers' own backups as they expire. If we ever have to restore a backup, we delete again every account we know was deleted after it was made.
Your rights and choices
- See and download your data: Settings → Your data → Download my data.
- Delete your account: Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. This removes everything we store about you.
- Correct your information: your profile comes from Twitch. Change it there, and it updates the next time you sign in.
- Other requests (for example objecting to or restricting how we use your data): email . We'll reply within 30 days.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority; in the EU or UK, the authority in your country.
Security
Every sign-in needs your Twitch account and a code from your authenticator app. Authenticator secrets are encrypted, recovery codes and sign-in tokens are stored only in scrambled form, connections use HTTPS, wrong attempts are limited, and backups are encrypted with a key only we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.
Children
ClipDeck is for people aged 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll let you know in ClipDeck before they take effect.
